“Don’t Go Tellin’ Your Momma” is the award winning documentary short film reimagining the Black ABCs, from musician Topaz Jones & directing duo rubberband.
From The New York Times: “For musician Topaz Jones, the Black ABCs served as an inspiration to explore his own coming of age in Montclair, N.J. [The Film] take[s] viewers on a visual and musical journey through Jones's education on his own Black identity. Jones’s personal update to each letter of the alphabet continues the tradition of documenting Black life as valuable.”
Big props to the entire crew for bringing this piece to life & congratulations to everyone involved on a fantastic run. Cut by editor Nate Katz, along with J.M. Harper and Simon Davis, we are so proud to have been involved in this one!
