Glorily Velez partnered with Anthony Mandler, Spike DDB and John Legend to show the Impala as an instrument of creativity. Beautifully shot in stark black and white, we see Legend isolated in creative block. Struggling, he grabs the keys and gets out into the world, taking in stoop-side musicians, graffiti artists and young lovers. Match cutting from the sculpted body of the car to the beautifully crafted grand piano, the spot opens onto the colorful stage, like Dorothy stepping into Oz, as Legend belts Made to Love—a ballad played from one beautiful instrument to another.
