Matthew + McDonald’s = #Gol.
While Powerade’s ad for the World Cup serves up inspiration by spotlighting the the Power in every game and Adidas focuses on #AllInOrNothing, McDonald’s World Cup spot explores a more playful approach.
Of course it takes a bit of both to make it to the World Cup, and DDB Chicago, Matthew Wood and Murder Ball director Henry Alex Rubin aren’t new to the game by a longshot.
Watch as they bring together kids of all ages setting and scoring incredible and unusual goals involving escalators, overpasses, third story apartments, church bells, mobility scooters and 6 inch platform heels.
You can also check it out over at AdAge, AdWeek, Creativity, LBB, Agency Spy, Source or shots—or maybe Washington Post who have credited it as one of the best World Cup commercials ever.
