Some traditions are worth bringing back.
Whitehouse Post and Carbon recently revived the Open House Film Fest, our internal creative challenge that brings teams together every couple of months around a new theme.
For its return, we went with something suitably spooky: horror. That's it.
Teams across London, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles took the prompt in their own direction, resulting in five films, each with a unique take on the genre.
Once the films were complete, we brought everyone together for a screening, joined by Vicky Ferraro from Wave Studios, who helped select the winner.
A horror fan herself, Vicky loved the creativity and range of ideas on display:
"Anyone who knows me knows I love a good horror film, so it was an honor to judge Whitehouse Post and Carbon’s first film fest! I was impressed by the creativity and ambition and loved seeing all the different takes on the genre packed into just a few minutes. A few good scares, some laughs, and a little psychological torment - just how I like my Halloween!"
After five films and plenty of scares, James took home the win with Sayonara.
Congratulations to James, and a big thanks to everyone who took part and helped bring the films to life.
We're already looking forward to the next one. Stay tuned for the next theme!
